Coming Out of Egypt

Establishing People in the Heart of God in Worship, the Principles of the Kingdom in Sonship and Maturity.

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.

Herod means; Heroic, having or involving recourse to boldness, daring, or extreme measures: He was brave and skilled in war, learned and ruthless; but also extremely suspicious and cruel. Hence he destroyed the entire royal family of Hasmonaeans, put to death many of the Jews that opposed his government, and proceeded to kill even his dearly beloved wife Mariamne of the Hasmonaean line and his two sons she had borne him. By these acts of bloodshed, and especially by his love and imitation of Roman customs and institutions and by the burdensome taxes imposed upon his subjects, he so alienated the Jews that he was unable to regain their favor
by his splendid restoration of the temple and many other acts. So in essence, the spirit of Herod is a vision killer.

2) to take away, abolish
a) to do away with or abrogate customs or ordinances
b) to put out of the way, kill slay a man

1) a child, boy or girl Heirs
a) infants, children
2) servant, slave
a) an attendant, servant, spec. a king’s attendant, minister

By understanding the above, we see that Herod’s mission was to suppress the servants and ministers and the attendants, and by so doing he would be able to delay, even put a stop to the spreading of the Gospen of Jesus Christ.

Bethlehem: Bethlehem = “house of bread”

Time: when the star began to shine (the light of God)

At the time of the star, a child, a son was born out of the house of bread and praise. And this anti God hero had a passion for blood. His nature was to destroy life. He began a hunt for this man child to destroy him and all that looked like him. All that was born around and about his time. Collateral damage is a must, without any remorse.

The spirit of Herod which is now rampant in the religious harlot system of our day, has sent out a decree, and all the male children, to say this another way, all that looks like, all that bears the mark of the man child, all that is born of him, is marked for death. Hear me saints of God, we have been marked for death since the day that we were born, destined to lay our lives down to one day take it back up again. Revelations chapter 12 tells the story of the dragon, the Herod nature that has every intent to devour the man child in us. See, the hunt is on and we have been on the run, but God have a place of refuge for his remnant. See, in the making of this last son, there must be some travel. He took Jesus into Egypt to keep him safe. Sometimes God puts us in the place where we are surrounded by our enemies to keep us safe. God will sometimes put us in the presence of our enemies to protect us, what he did for Joseph in Egypt, what he did for Moses in Egypt and what he did for Jesus in Egypt. Safety is not always a beautiful place. When Joseph was thrown into a pit by his brothers he was not aware of his position as governor of Egypt, and the strategy of God to save all Israel during the famine that was about to come. When he became a slave to the Pharaoh, it might have been a hopeless sight, he must have felt confused and disdained, but all of this was part of God’s plan to save Israel through his man, the man child that was hated by his brothers and loved by his Father. Are you loved by your Father God? Are you hated by your brothers in the flesh?

When Jesus was a child, he was hunted and sought by Herod to kill him. When he became full grown and matured, he was sought by the religious system to kill him and all the sick and needy. But as a man, he was able to minister to those that sought him. Joseph was able to deliver and save Israel in the famine. Jesus was able to deliver and save the world as a full grown son. Moses was able to deliver Israel from bondage.

God have a greater work for us to deliver and save our brethren when we grow up.

Are we growing?

While Joseph was in Egypt, he excelled Egypt, when Moses was in Egypt he excelled Egypt, are we excelling Egypt or are being consumed by it? Saints of God, let us draw nigh unto God and come to the realization that we must press on to grow up and become matured in Christ. We need to put on Christ, Romans said that we ought to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Ephesians says that we have been placed under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the Father, our walk and our destiny is ordained of God.

Genesis 37:18 Joseph

Egypt should be a place of refuge for a time and not a place of rest and final destination. Joseph found wealth in Egypt but found out that hierarchy and government changes in Egypt and have no allegiance to the Kingdom of God. Jesus had to leave Egypt, Moses had to flee Egypt. The hunt is necessary as Moses found out. It drove him to the backside of the desert where he found God and became a deliverer. The same thing happened to Joseph and Jesus. Egypt is not home. See, it is God who drives us into Egypt, but it is our destiny that drives us out, and only when we come out of Egypt are we able to experience the wilderness, and because of the wilderness we will enter into the promise land. Here is the thing though, when we enter into the promise land, we will not enter in as the old generation but as the 42nd generation, the sons of God, the sons of promise, the remnant, the chosen of God, saviors from mount zion, the brethren of Jesus, the man child.

There is a hunt to kill the Christ in us but there is also a hunt for deliverance. When the brothers found him in Egypt, they were delivered. When we find Jesus, we will find deliverance from our Egypt, Moses delivered Israel out of Egypt after he found God. Jesus delivered the world after he came out of Egypt.

Psalm 23:5

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

If Joseph was not hated by his brothers, thrown in a cave, sold as a slave, accused and imprisoned, he could not have excelled Egypt and become Governor to deliver Israel in the famine.

I want to suggest that out situations pushes us to rise up, it causes the Christ In us to be formed. While the enemy is trying to take us out, there are people who are seeking after us for deliverance.

a) (Qal)

2) vexer, harasser (participle)

Here we are saints of the most high God, in the flesh, in the carnal realm, subject to the laws of man and the cares and affairs of this life, are you being harassed? Are you being vexed? Are you being treated with hostility? Do you feel tied up and bound up? Do you feel shut up? Narrow? Cramped? Are you in distress? Well hello! Sounds a lot like Joseph in Egypt doesn’t it? This is no accident, God is in control. He said that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose.

Press on, seek after him who is the source of all things, and allow him to place you in your position.

There was a specific reason for killing every young man under the age of two. See, the #2 in this instance speaks of a testimony and the enemy knows that if you have a testimony of Jesus Christ which is the spirit of prophecy, you will do exploits, so he continues to try to keep you from acquiring a testimony, he does not want you to have a moment of victory in your life that you can look back and reflect on that will cause you to push forward. Don’t let the devil steal your joy. The enemy does not want you to walk in your purpose, his goal is to distract, distress and vex you, he wants you to get comfortable in Egypt so that you will not want to leave, consider the garlic and the leaks how they were conveniently provided for you, causing you to become dependent of what is dished out to you in bondage. See, in freedom, there is no prerequisite for coming unto him.

Matthew 11:28-30

28Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 12:46

46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Acts 26:18

18To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

17Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Romans 12:1-3

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Romans says that we ought to think soberly, which means that we often think like drunks, consumed by what we see and constantly trying to do things that is unrealistic and not taking into consideration the consequences of our actions, our minds should stay on Christ and the things that becometh holiness, righteousness and truth, such is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
